Former Doctor Who star David Tennant has revealed that he would love to feature in future Star Wars films. The actor recently provided the voice of a droid in the animated cartoon series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Disney has bought Lucasfilm, the company behind Star Wars and plans to release a new Star Wars film, episode seven, in 2015. The actor was speaking to Newsbeat's entertainment reporter Natalie Jamieson.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Tom Hiddleston has said that he would consider appearing in the upcoming Star Wars films if asked.

“I’m a huge fan, especially of the first three,” said Loki Hiddleston. “…Absolutely, yeah. It would depend on the story and the character and things. But I don’t know, maybe people would associate me too closely with Loki—I hope not.”

The actor then went on to discuss LucasFilm’s Kathleen Kennedy, who produced Steven Spielberg‘s War Horse, which Hiddleston co-starred in. [She's] a filmmaker of such extraordinary experience and wisdom—she’s one of the best producers I’ve ever worked for,” he said. “She just knows her way around the medium and the art form and the industry, so I think I’d take it very seriously if they asked me.”

So, what do you think? Does the idea of Hiddleston venturing to a galaxy far, far away give you heart palpitations? Or does it make you cringe? Would you like to see him playing a Sith, a Jedi, or someone completely different?

Or are you just sick of all these Star Wars casting rumors? (Not that this is a rumor, mind you. He just said it would be cool to do if he were asked. Literally. That’s all.) I’m now imagining a world in which every actor in every single interview is asked whether they’d want to be in the Star Wars sequels. Daniel Day-Lewis. Lindsay Lohan. Robert De Niro. Every. Single. One.
